Children’s Programs

Nursery Care

Nursery care is available year round for our youngest members by Patty Berry, who is our Nursery attendant, and volunteer parents and congregation members at all church functions. Play time, stories, music, simple crafts and snacks along with basic care needs are provided for infants through three-year olds.

Sunday School

The Sunday school program is currently for preschool (three to five-year olds) through eighth grade and is held every Sunday at 10:00 AM from the first weekend after Labor Day through the Sunday prior to Father's Day. Except for Communion Sundays, which are the first Sundays of each month, children begin the hour in the sanctuary with their families. A Children's Message or special activity is at the beginning of those services. Then the children proceed downstairs to "Circle Time" with their teachers. After a time of music, announcements and prayer, classes begin. Parents of children under first grade are asked to go downstairs following the service to pick up their children. A time of fellowship is then held in the church parlor. On Communion Sundays, children begin the hour downstairs in Circle Time and, if they and their families would like, are taken to the sanctuary with their families for Communion. Communion is also provided following the service for students and teachers. There are also two individualized Sunday school programs provided for special needs adults of the congregation by volunteer teachers on a weekly basis.

God's Garden Club

God's Garden Club, began in the summer of 2002 to provide learning activities for the younger children during the 10:00 AM worship service from Father's Day through the end of August. These times are led by parent and congregational volunteers who have a special interest or talent to share. Although the theme of "garden" has an emphasis on nature, anything in God's Creation is a good topic for the children preschool through fourth grade. Older children may act as helpers or may chose to join the regular worship service.

Vacation Bible Camp

Vacation Bible School is also for children ages preschool through fourth grade with several teen and adult leaders from the congregation. This has become a wonderful outreach program to the community and the energetic staff is planning another adventurous week this summer!

  Rock-a-thon

Another special Sunday school event is the annual Rock-a-thon.  In the past this was our annual fundraiser. At this year’s Rock-a-thon we will be doing activities that serve our local community: making cards and valentines for shut ins, baking cat & dog treats for the local animal shelters and other fun activities. Open to children of all ages, and this year doubling as a Youth Group lock-in. There will be dinner, games, music, crafts, and movies.

Youth Groups

Currently we have two youth groups, a Jr. Youth Group for those in 7th - 8th grade and a youth group for those in 3rd - 6th grade. Our focus in both groups is on community service, fundraising and social events.
