Jeremiah 18:1-11

Psalm 139:1-6

Philemon 1-21

Luke 14:25-33

Please plan to stay after church on Sunday, September 26, for an introduction to guided meditation. We will be exploring the basics of guided meditation and participating in a brief demonstration.

Following this introductory session, we will set the time and day when we will begin to practice this ancient prayer discipline on a regular basis.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Reed, the leader and organizer of the group.

Sunday, September 12, ‘The Tale of the Three Trees’, a musical by Tom S. Long, with lyrics and narration by Allen Pote, will be performed during the worship service by the Vacation Bible School players. Direction is by Doug McMinimy, accompaniment is by Kimberly Haller, and props and costumes by Vacation Bible Schoolers. Come and support our local youth talent!

There's a new opportunity for 7th - 12th graders to get together and have a safe and fun place to be with other youth to explore questions about God, faith, the church and life in the 21st century. We'll be meeting more or less monthly - the first time Sunday, September 12 from 4:30 - 7:00 at St. Francis in Blue Hill. All are welcome and encouraged to bring friends. Supper will be provided, so it would be helpful to know in advance if you plan to attend. Right now we're set up to alternate between St. Francis Episcopal, 330 Hinckley Ridge Road, Route 177 in Blue Hill and St. Andrew Lutheran, 175 Downeast Highway in Ellsworth. There will sometimes be doorprizes and always be good talk and good fun. Come on the 12th and check us out. The schedule through April is as follows: September 12, October 3 (at St. Andrew) & 24, November 14, December 5, January 9 & 30, February 20, March 13, April 3. For more info call St. Francis 374-5200 or St. Andrew 667-7641.

It’s time for the Outreach Harvest Festival Coffee Hours!  It's that time of year to begin harvesting, cooking and sharing the delicious seasonal fruits and vegetables from our gardens, local farms and woods.  This will be our 4th annual series of monthly harvest festivals.  We appreciate all who have contributed a dessert or dish in the past, and invite the congregation to surprise us with more family favorite recipes again this summer and fall.  We also have additional summer visitors to host at coffee hour, as well as our own church family. The dates of the remaining festivals are: September 19th – Zucchini; October 17th – Apples; November 21st – Pumpkin.  If you have any questions about the festivals, please call Karen McFarland at 288-5760.

Please make an effort not to wear perfume, cologne, or after shave lotion when you come to church.  There are members of our congregation who are extremely allergic to these substances who will deeply appreciate your efforts.

If you are interested in being a part of our Prayer Team, please give Sandra Reed your e-mail address, so you can receive alerts. When prayers are requested, the Prayer Team is notified and asked to pray for that person or concern. The Prayer Team does not discuss the concerns with anyone else, nor do we need to use specific names.
