Doris Karst celebrated her 101st birthday March 14, 2008 with her friends at the Birch Bay Village retirement community. The single candle represents the first year of her new century.

The Reverend Doctor Sandra Reed brought greetings to Doris from her church. The vase of flowers shown on the table were presented to Doris by Reverend Reed.

Barbara Moulton, a member of the Bar Harbor Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, congratulated Doris.
